Why targeting these markets?
In 2019, China was the most valuable outbound market globally, and second most valuable inbound market for the UK.
Before the COVID-19 pandemic, the Chinese outbound market was booming. Visits abroad almost tripled in 10 years: from 28m overnight stays in 2009, to well over 100m in 2019. As China has fully reopen its boarder since January 2023, international travel restrictions have been lifted, visits from China to the UK are forecasted to recover to 2019 levels by 2026.

Destination Britain China is a workshop with in-person one-on-one appointments. All UK Suppliers are provided with a meeting table and a pre-arranged meeting diary generated by Buyers and Suppliers preferences.

Priority will be given to businesses, products and experiences highly relevant to the market, and other experienced UK businesses that already engaged with international travel trade.
All registrations are subject to approval to ensure a variety of regions and product types, taking into consideration market relevance, trade readiness and a capped number per product sector and registration date.
