Accommodation Update – July 2025

From sky-high cocktails in Canary Wharf to whisky tastings on the Isle of Islay, Britain’s hotel scene is heating up for the summer. July’s round-up includes a new spa retreat in Norfolk, a Georgian guesthouse reborn in Wiltshire, and three London launches – from Shoreditch chic to Fitzrovia flair.

Dorsett Canary Wharf, London, England 

Opening summer 2025 

Due to open in the summer on the Isle of Dogs in East London, Dorsett Canary Wharf will occupy floors one to 20 of the Aspen tower at Consort Place, a mixed-use development that includes residential and retail facilities. The four-star hotel will offer 236 guest rooms – ranging from standard City‑view rooms to two-bedroom suites – alongside a ground-floor café, restaurant, gym and conference space. On the 20th floor, a sky bar and terrace will offer panoramic views across Canary Wharf’s skyline. 

The Newman, London 

Opening summer 2025 

Kinsfolk & Co. is set to debut The Newman hotel in London’s Fitzrovia in summer 2025. Designed by Lind + Almond, the 81-room hotel will channel the area’s bohemian literary and artistic past through stylish Art Deco design. Set on Newman Street, the hotel will feature a European-style brasserie spotlighting seasonal British produce, a cocktail bar, and a wellness floor complete with hot and cold experience cabins, an active salt therapy room and a hydrotherapy pool. A highlight will be the rooftop penthouse featuring a 130 square metre private terrace with views of Fitzrovia. The terrace will be equipped with a dining table for eight, a barbecue, a fire pit, a sauna, and a cold plunge. 

Opening later this year 

Ardbeg House, Port Ellen, Isle of Islay, Scotland  

Opening autumn 2025 

Ardbeg House marks the latest venture from Ardbeg Distillery – the award-winning Islay whisky brand. Opening in autumn 2025, the property will transform the former Islay Hotel in Port Ellen into a 12-room whisky retreat, just a short drive from the distillery itself. Guests can expect themed luxury bedrooms and suites with four-poster beds, a signature restaurant showcasing locally sourced Scottish fare, and a courtyard bar serving classic malts from across the island. Each stay will include a complimentary distillery tour or tasting. 

Sir Devonshire Square, London 

Opening autumn 2025 

Landing in the City of London this autumn, Sir Devonshire Square will bring design-led luxury to one of the capital’s oldest commercial quarters. Housed in a former East India Company warehouse near Bishopsgate, the 81-room hotel will be a stylish blend of heritage and modern design – with interiors nodding to the area’s mercantile past and a location just a short walk from the buzzing nightlife hotspot of Shoreditch. Expect velvet, brass, and bespoke furnishings across all rooms and suites, plus a brasserie, a bar and a member’s club – and all that just minutes from Liverpool Street Station and Spitalfields Market. 

Ffolkes, near King’s Lynn, Norfolk, England 

Available from September 2025 

The newly launched FFOLKESPA completes the transformation of Ffolkes, a vibrant reinterpretation of a 17th-century coaching inn. Bringing a new take on the traditional spa experience to Hillington in the heart of Norfolk, stays in 16 of its 22 characterful rooms will include full access to the new spa from September. The spa will span 12 immersive thermal experiences – from themed saunas and icy plunge pools to a giant hot tub beneath disco‑ball ceilings. Three standalone Spa Cabins will also feature private hot tubs, saunas and outdoor showers, coupled with countryside views. Stays include unlimited brunch at the in‑house FEAST café, while the wider property offers container golf, a games room, and rotating street‑food traders in the pub. For those staying in one of Ffolkes’ six Coaching Rooms, access to the spa will be available as an optional upgrade. 

Corsham House, Corsham, England 

Opening early winter 2025 

Housed within a Grade II-listed Georgian-era building in the historic Wiltshire town of Corsham, Corsham House will offer 14 bedrooms alongside several dining and wellness spaces. The boutique hotel, formerly a bank, will include a Beckford Bottle Shop, a bistro and a canteen. Guests will also find a Bramley Spa, plus sustainable design features aimed at reducing the property’s carbon footprint.
