  • In 2023, Bangkok to London Heathrow had the highest share of departing seats.

  • Of all the airlines to operate the Thailand to Britain route in 2023, Thai Airways serves the most departing seats at 63%.

  • The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic led to a 70% reduction in direct seat capacity from Thailand to the UK in 2020, and 2021 was 88% behind pre-COVID levels. 2022 was 52% behind pre-pandemic levels.

  • In 2023, direct seat capacity from Thailand to the UK is set to recover to 70% of pre-pandemic (2019) capacity.

  • The current rate of Air Passenger Duty for visitors departing Britain for Thailand is £91.
