Harris Bokhari OBE announced as new Chair of the BTA Board

The Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport Lisa Nandy announced the appointment of Harris Bokhari OBE as Chair of the British Tourist Authority Board

The Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport Lisa Nandy has today, 19 November, announced the appointment of Harris Bokhari OBE as Chair of the British Tourist Authority Board (trading as VisitBritain/VisitEngland), for a three-year term starting from 1 December 2025.

Harris Bokhari is a proven leader with extensive main board and Chair-level public service roles experience at major UK non-profit and cultural institutions. Harris has a deep passion for the important role the visitor economy plays in our wider national economy and has played an extensive leadership role in a number of UK’s leading visitor attractions ensuring everyone feels welcomed, including serving on the board of the Natural History Museum, National Trust Council and The Royal Parks.

A chartered accountant by training, he has advised some of the world leading firms, supported many UK’s leading Ultra High Net Worth entrepreneurs and their companies at board level including within the tourism, travel industries and visitor economy.

Harris also serves as Chair, Public Service Honours Committee, a member of the Board of the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government serving as Chair of the Audit and Risk Assurance Committee and is an Independent Member of the King’s Award for Voluntary Service Committee.
