Context
The British Tourist Authority (BTA) is the national tourism agency and an accredited non-departmental public body funded by the Department of Digital, Culture, Media & Sport (DCMS) and trades under the name of VisitBritain/VisitEngland (VB/VE).
VB/VE is a global organisation with 280+ people based in 16 different countries including the UK. VB/VE plays a unique role in building England’s tourism product, raising Britain’s profile worldwide, increasing the volume and value of tourism exports and developing Britain’s visitor economy.
As the national tourism board, VisitBritain is responsible for targeting international visitors to boost overseas visits and spend in the UK, working within 22 international markets. Tourism is worth £127 billion in the UK economy, creating jobs and boosting economic growth across its nations and regions.
Main purpose of the role
HR provides advice, support, guidance, and information which enables BTA to achieve its goals through people. Its aims are to ensure that we have the right people in the right place at the right time at the right cost with the right skills and performing to the levels required. This aim is achieved by continually improving the policies, systems and practices which enable this.
This role will work closely with the whole HR team to provide efficient administrative support across all HR aspects to ensure effective delivery of the service is maintained. This role requires the blend of both an HR background to support and facilitate queries submitted to the HR inbox and excellent organisational skills to balance the requirements of supporting the senior HR Management Team.
We are looking for a positive and proactive team player, that identifies solutions, takes forward their delivery, and has a strong customer focus.
We are particularly keen to find a candidate with good communication skills and interest in systems and data.
