Procurement

VisitBritain/VisitEngland promotes fair and open competition in its procurement practices and, as required by law, awards contracts on the basis of non-discrimination, equal treatment, and transparency. Contracts must be awarded following best value for money principles.

We have already outsourced the majority of its central support services, including its information technology requirements. Purchases of goods and other services are limited to the relatively small needs of the core department.

How VisitBritain/VisitEngland procures

Due to its size, VisitBritain/VisitEngland as a rule does not keep a preferred supplier list. If a requirement arises, we would use the relevant Crown Commercial Services (CCS) framework agreements or other Public frameworks agreements available. However, if the requirement is not covered by any framework and it is above £25,000, then it would be advertised on the Contracts Finder website, through the Atamis e-procurement system.

All relevant VisitBritain/VisitEngland procurement is advertised on the Contracts Finder website and where applicable Find a Tender service.

Transparency in Government procurement

Contracts Finder is the government's single platform providing access to public sector procurement related information and documentation, including the facility to publish both tender and contract documents in a single place.

In accordance with the Government's commitment on transparency, we are committed to publish on Contracts Finder tender documentation when the minimum threshold whole life contract value is £25,000 (net of recoverable VAT) and above.
