Context
The British Tourist Authority (BTA) is the national tourism agency and an accredited non- departmental public body funded by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport (DCMS), and trades under the name of VisitBritain/VisitEngland (VB/VE). The British Tourist Authority (BTA) is a global organisation with 300+ people based in 19 different countries.
VisitBritain is Britain’s national tourism agency and is responsible for promoting Britain worldwide and developing its visitor economy. VisitBritain’s mission is to grow the value of inbound tourism to Britain, working with a wide range of partners in both the UK and overseas. Through its global reach, it aims to increase visitor spend to all parts of Britain and improve Britain’s ranking in the eyes of international visitors.
Main purpose of the role
To provide a high level of support to both the Marketing Director and Europe Director and their respective divisions in scheduling, administration and logistics, ensuring the smooth running of both divisions. The post-holder will in addition facilitate and co-ordinate essential meetings and activities whilst maintaining the reputation of the divisions through the accurate application of financial procedures such as travel arrangements, costs and expenses.
