Context

The British Tourist Authority (BTA) is the national tourism agency and an accredited non- departmental public body funded by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport (DCMS), and trades under the name of VisitBritain/VisitEngland (VB/VE). The British Tourist Authority (BTA) is a global organisation with 300+ people based in 19 different countries.

VisitBritain is Britain’s national tourism agency and is responsible for promoting Britain worldwide and developing its visitor economy. VisitBritain’s mission is to grow the value of inbound tourism to Britain, working with a wide range of partners in both the UK and overseas. Through its global reach, it aims to increase visitor spend to all parts of Britain and improve Britain’s ranking in the eyes of international visitors.

Digital is the key channel to deliver our message to Government, the industry, the B2B trade and consumers. VisitBritain has a central Marketing team (circa 60 employees) that is responsible for strategy, systems, tools, frameworks, expertise, campaigns, content, social, etc. It also has offices around the world who develop local strategies in order to maximise the ROI for our Marketing.

The central Digital Team is a global function and part of Marketing. The central Digital Team includes a Digital Product Team, led by the Senior Digital Product Manager.

Main purose of the role

The Digital Product Manager will play a key role in delivering BTA’s new websites and Digital Asset Management System, working alongside other members of the Digital Product team and reporting into the Senior Digital Product Manager. The role holder will take a user-centred approach to digital delivery and will bring a knowledge of best practice for usability and accessibility to the programme. They will articulate and prioritise business and user requirements and work with a digital agency to see them through to delivery, providing quality assurance for the solutions developed.
