New module for Russian travel trade on visas

A new visa module dedicated to the Russian travel trade has launched as a part of our free online travel educational programme, BritAgent. The new learning module is designed to support travel agents in Russia with understanding the visa application process to enable the trade to sell Britain more effectively to their clients.

Records broken for number of international visits to UK in January

New figures released by the Office for National Statistics show that more than 2.5 million visits were made in January 2016, a new January record, up 6% on the same month last year. Overseas visitors spent £1.28 billion while in the UK during January 2016, 3% less than the same month in 2015.

New figures out today show that a new January record has been set for the numbers of international visits to the UK, up 6% on the same month last year. The Office for National Statistics figures show that more than 2.5 million visits were made in January 2016 with visitors spending £1.28 billion.

6 million Brits plan a UK trip this Easter equating to £1.5bn in spend

VisitEngland’s latest Trip Tracker Survey today reveals that 6 million Brits (12% of the adult population) are planning an overnight holiday trip in the UK this Easter, with 5 million people (10%) planning on taking an overnight trip in England.This is likely to generate some £1.5bn in tourism spend for the UK economy, £1.2 billion of which will be spent in England.
