VisitBritain is this week hosting its largest ever tourism mission to China, followed by its first trade event to South Korea in more than five years.
New figures released today show that it was a record-breaking August for inbound tourism to the UK with 3.8 million visits, up 2% on the same month last year.
Britain’s national tourism body VisitBritain has today (August 17) opened a new office in Guangzhou, China to attract more Chinese visitors to Britain.
Records have been set in 2015 for inbound visits with strong growth from Britain’s major inbound markets including the US and Europe and double digit growth from newer markets China & the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
VisitBritain’s work to increase the welcome and services that Chinese visitors to England experience has been recognised with a gold award in the service quality category of the Chinese Tourist Welcome Awards 2016 held today (Wednesday 13 April) in Beijing.
