There were 3.23 million international visits in June 2016, a one percent decrease compared to the same month in 2015. The longer term picture in the 12 month period to June is tracking 4% higher than the previous 12 months at 36.49 million visits.
Visits to friends and relatives (VFR) experienced an increase in visits in June, up 9% to 870,000 and setting a new record for June. During June 2016, business visits remained stable at 850,000 visits which was the same volume of visits as June 2015. Miscellaneous visits increased 8% to 240,000 compared to June 2015.
