We want to work with you to ensure that tourism is one of the most successful and productive sectors for the UK economy. We want to provide the best service to our stakeholders and meet the ever-growing expectations of potential visitors and our business partners.
- Robin Johnson has been appointed Global Marketing Director to lead and deliver innovative marketing campaigns, build on our relationship with GREAT and industry collaboration.
- Gavin Landry has been appointed International Director, overseeing all our international operations. He will lead our overseas network to build partnerships and relationships with local trade to ensure Britain is sold, with the media to deliver high value coverage for Britain, and with the FCDO to ensure tourism is central to broader Government messaging.
We are currently advertising for two new roles - a new Partnerships Director and a Transformation Director on a two-year contract
- The new Partnerships Director will focus on building partnerships to amplify our activity across all areas. Their remit will include research and data to ensure we are delivering timely actionable insights that industry values, as well as Business Events, industry communications and events.
- The new Transformation Director will deliver our Building our Future programme to build our digital and data capabilities and new ways of working.
As the recruitment process will possibly take a few months we will be appointing interim directors to lead in these areas until we have made the permanent appointments following an open application process.
I am delighted to announce that Saul Batzofin has accepted the interim Transformation Director role. We are interviewing for the interim Partnership Director role and hope to have an appointment to announce next week.
These directors will join our senior team led by me as CEO - namely Andrew Stokes, our England and Commercial Director, our HR and Professional Services Director, Debra Lang, and our Finance, PMO and Procurement Director, Serena Jacobs.
These changes do mean that we are saying goodbye to some colleagues, Tricia Warwick and Clare Mullin, and we would like to thank them for all that they have delivered and wish them well for the future.
We have some major projects to deliver in the next couple of months including the launch of the next phase of our Great campaign, hosting international buyers for the Britain and Ireland Marketplace, and accreditation of DMOs and the set up of the North East as the DDP pilot as part of the implementation of the de Bois review.
I hope to see many of you at industry events and some of the conferences I am speaking at.
Wishing you all a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year.
Patricia Yates, CEO
