VisitEngland carried out some research in March 2021 to understand how it would be possible to drive increased consideration of domestic city breaks in England this summer, and beyond, during the Covid recovery phase.
The research was qualitative, carried out by agency Kubi Kalloo and consisted of an online bulletin board with 32 travellers and then 6 follow up depth interviews.
The research demonstrates the need for easing nervousness around city travel and puts emotional reconnection with loved ones as a key motivator for helping people return to cities.
