Andrew has recently joined the VisitEngland Board as part of the U.K. Board Apprentice Programme. He has over 15 years’ experience in the travel and tourism sector and a wealth of public and third-sector knowledge from a number of volunteer positions he undertakes.
Andrew is currently employed as a commercial airline pilot where he is a flight captain. He has recently been awarded a first-class degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics, studying in his spare time through the Open University. Prior to his current role, Andrew served in the British Army for a number of years before retraining as a pilot through Oxford Aviation.
Andrew is an elected District Councillor in East Hertfordshire. In addition to his routine duties, he has responsibilities for championing the council’s observance to the Hertfordshire Armed Forces Covenant and Chairs the Education Sub-group. He is also a committee member and Chair of the Stansted Airport Consultative Committee’s Environmental Issue Group. Beyond his council work and, as a veteran himself, Andrew has long been associated with the Royal British Legion. He is currently the Hertfordshire RBL County Chairman
