The Economic Contribution of the Aviation Industry in the UK
In 2006 VisitBritain was part of a consortium that asked Oxford Economic Forecasting to undertake a detailed study into the economic value of aviation to UK tourism and the wider economy. The 111 page report found that more than half a million UK jobs depend either directly or indirectly on aviation and that spending by visitors to the UK who arrive by air supports 170,000 jobs.
