Who does what in British tourism?

VisitBritain is a Non-Departmental Public Body whose prime sponsor is the Department for Culture, Media and Sport. Each of the countries within the British Isles has its own national tourist board (England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and London) which works closely with us. Through our international network we provide a cost-effective export platform for these national brands. We also help ensure that prospective visitors understand how the different countries and regions within the UK complement each other and how easy it is to travel between them.

We do not market Britain to people already living in the UK as this is best done by the individual countries and regions.

Use our interactive map to read about tourism organisations in each area of Great Britain.
