Our Board

Our board decides our overall direction, working within a framework agreed with our sponsoring Government department, the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (www.culture.gov.uk/) (DCMS). It also monitors our performance against targets agreed with DCMS.

The board is led by our Chairman, Christopher Rodrigues, CBE. There are six other members, five of whom are appointed by the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport and one by the Welsh Assembly. The Chairmen of VisitEngland and VisitScotland sit on the board in an ex-officio capacity and a small number of observers attend the board by invitation.

The Rt Hon Baroness Liddell of Coatdyke was British High Commissioner to Australia from 2005-2009. She joined our board in 2010.

Sir Moir Lockhead took up a new role as Chairman of the Scottish Rugby Union in June 2011. He was appointed to our board in July 2005.
