Latest International Visitor Statistics

- The provisional International Passenger Survey (IPS) data shows that 2004 is the best ever recorded year for the UK inbound tourism both in terms of volume and value. In 2004 overseas visitors made 27.71 million visits to the UK (up 12% on 2003) and spent £13.03 billion (an increase of 10% compared to 2003).

Latest Domestic Holiday Trends

- 14% of UK adults took an overnight trip in England over the past fortnight, this is a single percentage point increase on the last wave and the same period last year.
- 14% of UK adults are planning an overnight trip in England over the coming fortnight, this is a 2% increase.
- Of those planning an overnight trip over the coming fortnight 31% say they are planning on going abroad, with 55% planning their trip in England.
